Probation Termination Letter
Written notice ending an employment during probation, on your letterhead: the start date, the notice date and a last working day at least 14 days later (Article 9(1)), as PDF or DOCX.
This tool writes the letter an employer gives to end an employment during the probation period. It states the start date, the date the notice is given and the last working day, cites Article 9(1) of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, and says when the wages and other dues will be paid. The page checks the dates before you generate.
The notice Article 9(1) requires
Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, Article 9(1): “The employer may appoint the worker under a probationary period not exceeding (6) six months from the date of commencement of work. The employer may terminate the service of the worker during this period after notifying the latter of the same in writing fourteen (14) days at least before the date specified for the termination of service.”
The page refuses a last working day less than 14 days after the notice date, and a notice date more than six months after the start date. After probation, the notice agreed in the contract applies (Article 43): use the termination letter.
What is paid at the end
Article 53 requires the employer to pay the worker, “within (14) fourteen days from the end date of the contract term, his wages and all his other entitlements”. The letter says so.
The letter does not promise an end-of-service gratuity. Under Article 51(2) a full-time foreign worker is entitled to it after completing “a year or more in continuous service”, and probation lasts at most six months. A national worker’s end-of-service benefit follows the pension legislation (Article 51(1)). The final settlement calculator works out what is due.
