What it commits the company to: to keep paying the employee’s salary into this bank until the bank issues a clearance letter, and to pay the employee’s end-of-service dues into the same account when the employment ends. This is a commitment to the bank, not something the law requires. Include it only if your company has agreed it with the bank.

A UAE bank usually asks for a salary transfer letter before it opens a salary account for an employee or considers a loan or a credit card. This tool produces it on your letterhead, addressed to the bank you name: it confirms the employee’s position and joining date, states the monthly salary, basic plus allowances, and that the salary is paid through the Wage Protection System (WPS), and makes the request you choose.

What the letter states

The letter certifies that the employee is employed with your company in the stated position since the joining date, gives the monthly salary in AED — the total, the basic salary and the allowances, or the basic salary alone — and states that the salary is paid monthly through WPS. It then asks the bank to open an account in the employee’s name, or to consider the employee’s application for a personal loan or a credit card.

Ministerial Resolution No. 340 of 2026 requires establishments registered with MOHRE to pay wages through WPS (Article 1(2)); Article 22 of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 requires wages to be paid on their due dates. If your company pays outside WPS, the WPS sentence is not true for you: do not issue the letter as it stands.

The undertaking is your choice

Banks often ask the employer for an undertaking: to keep paying the salary into that bank until the bank issues a clearance letter, and to pay the end-of-service dues into the same account when the employment ends. That is a real commitment of the company to the bank, and no law requires it. The tool leaves it out unless you tick the box; include it only if your company has agreed it with the bank.

With the undertaking, the letter also states that the company is not a guarantor of the employee’s liabilities to the bank. Without it, the letter says that it confirms the employment and salary details only and is not an undertaking or a guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does UAE law require a salary transfer letter?

No. Banks ask for it; the law requires only that wages are paid on time (Article 22 of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021) and, for establishments registered with MOHRE, through WPS (Ministerial Resolution No. 340 of 2026, Article 1(2)).

What does the salary transfer undertaking commit the employer to?

To keep transferring the employee’s salary to the named bank until the bank issues a clearance letter, and to transfer the end-of-service dues to the same account when the employment ends. It is off by default in this tool; tick it only if the company has agreed it with the bank.
